What do you except to find
hidden high on southern slopes;
buried deep within lush valleys?
Treasures tossed among timber;
deities upon the mountain,
deep within cool caves, or
down throughout the forest
Who protects you now?
What terrain do you travel?
Mountaineers of early morn,
explorers of Himalaya, and
guide who passes from peak to peak!
Oh, porter in your dressed attire
so rugged and robust as you climb;
foreign trekker of the wild west
who do you see atop the mountain?
… a God of another kind?
“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” Psalms 90:2
