I’m not sure if this is addressed to the purveyor of candy depicted in the picture or if this is metaphoric for an individual or group that is using temptation to sell an idea to the masses. To me, it sounds like a politician or advertiser who has come under fire. I like the use of synonyms – they create a strong metaphor.
