A shell, this body
twisted and woven,
yet fragile in symmetry
tossed upon grainy shore;
washed in ocean’s froth
then emptied… yet ready
to be filled – once again.
“A sound heart is life to the body…” Proverb 14:30

Gem!
ready to be filled again … perhaps as a home for some new creature? Lovely poem.
Sparkling wisom in a small parcel
Lovely. k .
So sweet, simple, could feel the tangy salt on my skin. Exquisitely done!
they are lovely bits of architecture
love the motion and simplicity – words and image working together.
Something more than just an empty shell! Thanks for this.
To be filled again yes that’s wonderful.
emptied just to be filled once again…there’s a cool freshness to this…
wiling to be emptied here to be refilled
beautiful work
There is hope here.
You’ve got to love the efficiency, the recycling of nature. I like your sense of house cleaning, “washed in ocean’s froth,” as a way of getting it ready for the next occupant.
Ah, but it won’t be filled again. It will be crushed and reduced to sand and forgotten. Symmetry is fragil — that is perhaps why it is so beautiful, eh? Wait, maybe I am forgetting hermit crabs!
I like the personification given the shell. Your descriptions were spot on. A great mesh of word and art.
I used the shell also…always like it when someone uses the “skins of nature”, whatever it might be…nice
Lovely!
Beautiful message…I like the idea of being filled again ~
Glorious wavy rhythm
Love the metaphor here…
I see, hear, feel hope at the end of this
…yet to be filled once again… like us.. at times we let go a lot of things in life even our own self yet we don’t close heart but rather open it wide for the coming of a brand new day to start & love & trust yet once again… smiles…
Ah, love the shell.
Lovely poem, i loved the feeling of being ready to be filled. Excellent
smiles….a home once…and a home again…to be filled by the next…they are beautiful…we have buckets of them from our trips to the beach….nice movement in your words..
