Grief is no friend of man…
Like wailing winter wind,
or roaring pouring rain,
thunders as tornado,
moans in the maddening heat,
scorches like noonday sun,
drapes in midnight darkness;
no brilliant sunrise nor
savory sun’s setting bliss
Grief is better with two…
words a wealth of mending
says God a healing balm.
Forget your discomfort
or busy of long day;
gladly touch a hurting one
whose pain is sad burden
much lighter not alone
“Weep with those who weep.” (Romans:15)
linking up with dVerse later today…
“I once wore rose-colored glasses;
now know a sunset needs nothing
and clear vision is a blessing
when the mirror is clearly broken.”
That’s brilliant, Patti!
so beautiful.
ah i hope to be someone who can be there for others.
Time and company help to ease most discomforts…
One can feel the pain but, find comfort in knowing that healing can come with the help of another.
I love the scriptural ending. It’s true. We all need each other- and God the most of all
A strong piece of work, beautifully and sensitively expressed – thank you… Scott http://www.scotthastie.com
Grief is better with two…true… lovely write…love the photograph!
So true… we need one another.
your cadence is wonderful in this strong piece of poetry. loved it!
How true this is…so much harder to go through grief alone with no one to share. Makes the pain that much greater. It is better with two…beautifully portrayed, Patricia.
grief is better with two…having someone to share with…to help you walk it…it will surely come to our lives…nothing we can do to stop it…but we can walk it and not let it take us in…great scripture to go with as well..
