Divided Sky

DSCN2357

Dusk sky did divide bold
like ivory piano keys free
and divulged its petticoat;
as foam upon wild waves afloat.
Showed brilliant fruit of Fuji tree;
a fantastic fable quite untold.

Unleashed luster across sky;
splattered sensation sweet treat
before my fixed glance.
All things change; no second chance.
I hurried my petite feet…
stood still to watch and sigh.

Every time I linger in the wood, gaze upon the open sky, or sit upon the beach my creativity is stirred. I’m amazed at the created world about me. Another turn-about pattern in my poetry: abccba, deffed, (easier than the last). Includes a double ending rhyme pattern (last two words in lines 2, 5, 8, and 11).

  1. The poem was amazing. It gives me a motivation to use nature as my subject in making a poem. Your poem helped me a lot with Literature project. Keep up the spirit :) Looking forward to read more of your poems.

  2. I function in much the same way. When the muse eludes, I know I must head outdoors. Walk, move, listen, smell, really-really- look. And then she joins me, and we create.

  3. Wonderful structure and diction combine with beautiful images in your poem. I am infinitely inspired by nature as well. I live in the mountains among groves of aspens, evergreens, and abundant wildlife.
