butterflies
I do miss them so
when snow flies
with grey skies
pretty wings long spent
south to warmth
though snow shines
like rich diamond dust
wings are gone
flashy wings
lemon, tangerine,
and chartreuse
dance and float
with such charm and grace
atop wind
when snow flies
I do miss them so
butterflies
Form For All: La Lune last week with a 3-5-3 word Collom lune…. they say practice makes perfect. Trying my hand at it again. I know the pic is of a Luna Moth, but it was the only winged pic I had to offer. Thanks for stopping in. What is your favorite thing you miss when winter winds blow? Linking up to dVerse.
Beautiful. I miss the butterflies, too. They will return, we just have to be patient.
Such a tender and beautiful piece–we don’t have snow during winter, but I love when I see them
A lovely meditation, with the melancholy only a poet can achieve… I miss the light, both the sunshine (we live a valley that has a lid of clouds for about 4 months) and I miss the way days extend when the sun sets late. But, winter brings other needful things.
I especially liked your colorful descriptions of them. Hopefully time will go quickly until they return.
Charming poem. I like the one you choose as illustration because insects that use camouflage as protection have been of special interest.
yeah i do miss them as well..both dance though…the snowflakes and the butterflies..smiles
Very pretty – me too. I don’t miss moths as much! As they’ve eaten all my sweaters. k.
Beautiful
so Simple & Beautiful
A nice thought on a blustery day.
Lovely! Very rythmic and flowing; kind of like the butterfly.
Very nicely penned. Yes, I miss butterfliesbeautiful presence VERY much too in winter too…
Lovely write…. Butterflies so beautiful !
this is such a beautiful piece.
Haven’t been here in a while and you give me butterflies! How wonderful. What a gift… Butterflies and your words. = )
I didn’t realize I missed them till just now.
Gorgeous. I love that you call this beautiful moth a snow butterfly. Just gorgeous
so colorful and as delicate as butterfly wings…beautiful poem, Patricia.
smiles…i miss the butterflies as well…the little sky dancers in their colorful tutus…they will return soon enough and the snow will be gone…for now enjoy the pristine white…
(Psst! That’s a Luna Moth, not a butterfly) ☺
