Forest Floor

What lies on forest floor;
when winter’s coat ignores
whiteness of the snow.

What’s tucked deep in earth;
where critter snoozes so sound,
while sun seeps in solid dirt.

What’s buried beneath nature;
why do we hide ourselves
worlds to be uncovered.

What draws us to retreat;
when winter’s in our hearts
whiteness washed away.

What makes a winter cold;
where sleeps seem to evade,
while sun warms bitter soul.

What can be ponder;
why not hear nature speak
worlds solely crafted.

“This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens…” Genesis 2:4

Next Monday join me at Scribbling Spiritual Sand and encourage us with a poem, photo, or story devotion expressing these verses of Scripture: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:1-2
